For a Prospering Mauritanian Economy and Promoting Extractives Industries

Invest In Africa Mauritania is proud to announce an agreement signed with the country’s parliamentary group that oversees the promotion and protection of mineral resources. With support of British Petroleum, IIA will leverage this platform to produce capacity building workshops.

This new relationship kicked off with a hugely fruitful awareness session, delivered to the 15 Parliamentarians and the British ambassador.

Chairman of the Parliamentary Group, Dr Ebbabe Begnougue, introduced the session by saying, “It is essential we aware of the important place that the extractive industries occupy in development, the job opportunities they provide, and the great ability to reduce poverty and what they can provide in the future."

Speaking on behalf of the Minister of Oil, Minerals and Energy to the importance of responsible management of Mauritania’s resources, Mr Moustapha Bechir thanked the parliamentary team for their efforts in spreading "the culture of participation and exchange of experiences for a transparent and rational management of our extractive resources."
